FOOD SAFETY REGULATION

Pursuant to the 1992 Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which was amended and supplemented under Resolution No. 51/2001 / QH10;
The National Assembly promulgated the Law on Food Safety.

Chapter I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Scope

This Law provides for the rights and obligations of organizations and individuals in ensuring food safety; conditions for ensuring food safety, food production and trading as well as import and export of foodstuffs; advertising, labeling food; food testing; risk analysis for food safety; Prevention, prevention and overcoming of food safety incidents; information, education, communication on food safety; State management responsibility for food safety.

Article 2. Interpretation of terms

In this law, the terms below are construed as follows:

1. Food safety means ensuring that food is not harmed to human health and life.

2. Foodborne illness is a disease caused by eating or drinking food contaminated with pathogens.

3. Food-processing aids are those intended for use in the processing of food ingredients or components of a food for the purpose of technology, which may be separated or left in the plant. Products.

4. Food processing means the process of processing pre-processed or fresh food by industrial or manual methods to form food materials or food products.

5. Food service business establishments are food processing establishments, including stores, ready-to-serve food stalls, ready-to-eat foodstuffs, ready-to-eat foodstuffs, and collective kitchen.

6. Food safety assurance conditions are technical regulations and other regulations applicable to foodstuffs, food production and trading establishments as well as food production and trading activities managed by the managing agencies. Authorized state issued for the purpose of ensuring food safety for human health and life.

7. Food testing means the performance of one or more experimental and conformity assessment activities with relevant technical regulations and standards for food, food additives and food processing aids. , food supplements, food packaging, utensils, food stuffs.

8. Food business means the performance of one, several or all preshipment activities, preservation services, transportation services or the sale of food.

9. Lot of food products is a defined quantity of a kind of product of the same name, quality, raw material, shelf life and the same being produced at a facility.
